CYCLING - SPEED TRAP
System Overview:
When you have the need to record the speed of a rider or anything for that matter, you can set up a speed trap. This requires a start impulse and a finish impulse and a timing computer. You input the distance between the photocells, then as the rider crosses the first photocell an internal clock starts within the timer and as the rider breaks the second photocell, the timing computer calculates the time taken to travel the distance and converts this into either km/hour, miles/hour or meters/sec.
The speed is then displayed on the GAZ4 display boards along with the competitor's bib number and rank.
If the rank and bib number is not required you could also use an ALGE S4, Timy or a Comet with the speed program as the timing computer. You will then only need to use a single GAZ4 display board.
